Jack Dancer was a high flying media star
until he fell foul of a conspiracy to disgrace
him. His wife, Meg, anxious for a change
of life to save her marriage, suggests they
leave London for good with their two children,
Liam and Millie. Jack buys a rundown local
newspaper, ‘The Voice’, in the
Forest of Dean and a tumbledown mansion
tucked away in the middle of the forest.
They bought it by auction and don’t
realise the house holds a secret that will
bedevil them. Liam and Millie are predictably
unimpressed, especially when they can’t
get a signal on their mobiles.
The Dancers soon learn that they have near
neighbours, very near in fact, living in
a cottage and barn on their land. Fergus
and his daughter Roxy are drop out squatters
with, they claim, ancient Forest rights.
Roxy and Liam are immediately attracted
and repelled by each other and Meg finds
the poetic, anarchic and mystical Fergus
a potent brew. |
